MEG VIII Meeting

The Malaria Elimination Group (MEG) held its eighth meeting in Santa Cruz, California from October 28 to 31, 2013. MEG participants included over 40 representatives from country programs in Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America as well as partner institutions including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Global Fund, PATH, Medicines for Malaria Ventures, and the World Health Organization. Sessions and discussions focused on country experiences with mass drug administration, the use of information technology in surveillance, effective program management for elimination, and strategies for addressing importation. This year’s meeting also provided time to participants to offer input to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s developing malaria strategy.
