On October 14-17 2014, the Malaria Elimination Group (MEG) held its ninth meeting in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Seventeen international malaria experts gathered to discuss Sri Lanka's achievement of maintaining zero local transmission since 2012 and to learn best practices to take back to their own countries. The MEG pledged to join other partners in providing ongoing technical support and called upon the Sri Lankan government to sustain its commitment to malaria elimination and prevention of reintroduction.
