UCSF Global Health Group’s Malaria Elimination Initiative (MEI)

Sara Fewer

Sara Fewer is Co-Director of the UCSF Global Health Group’s Evidence to Policy Initiative. In this role, she leads policy analyses and outreach on health finance and health systems with low- and middle-income country governments, as well as with donor and development agencies. At the Malaria Elimination Initiative (MEI), Sara co-leads efforts to support countries to transition from donor finance for malaria and to promote the long-term sustainability of countries’ malaria response.

Sara is based in Stockholm, Sweden, where she also works with the Swedish Institute for Global Health Transformation, an institute of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. She has worked on a range of global health policy topics, including tuberculosis, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and international collective action in health. Previously, Sara co-managed the Secretariat of The Lancet Commission on Investing in Health.

Sara has Master of Public Policy (MPP) and MPH degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a BA from Mount Holyoke College.
