
Moses R. Kamya
Dr. Moses R. Kamya, MBChB, MMed, MPH, PhD, is a distinguished Ugandan physician, academic, and researcher. He currently serves as a Professor of Medicine at Makerere University and the Executive Director of the Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) in Uganda. He has previously held the roles of Chair of the Department of Medicine and Dean of the Makerere University School of Medicine in Kampala. With over 25 years of experience in malaria research, Dr. Kamya is currently the co-Program Director of the Uganda International Centers of Excellence in Malaria Research (ICEMR). Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Uganda Ministry of Health's Malaria Scientific Advisory Committee (MSAC). His numerous accolades include being named one of the 75 most influential public health alumni in the 75-year history of the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) School of Public Health in 2018, and receiving the prestigious 2022 Elise and Walter A. Haas International Award.
